## Apps Overview

The Frappe ecosystem is a network of apps that share the same platform. They can be installed individually on a site and combined to build the system you need.

The wider ecosystem has hundreds of apps — payment gateways, country-specific localizations, industry verticals (manufacturing, healthcare, education), specialized integrations. They live on GitHub and on [frappecloud.com](https://frappecloud.com).

### Before installing a third-party app

Not every app works with every version of Frappe / ERPNext. Before installing on a production site, check:

- The app's stated Frappe version compatibility
- The Frappe version your site is running (`bench version`)
- Any conflicting custom fields or hooks
- Whether the app is actively maintained

When in doubt, ask Prilk before installing on a production site.
